Russia´s driver will be at the wheel of a Drivex-entered Dallara F312 for 2017. Troitskiy made two appearances with the team in the Euroformula Open last season
Drivex has announced today that Russian driver Nikita Troitskiy will join its driver line-up for what will be his maiden Euroformula Open full-season. Troistskiy, aged 17 and born in Tamiisaari, made his debut in the series last year with two appearances throughout the season at Red Bull Ring and Monza and the talented young star immediately left his mark. Nikita finished 4th and managed to step up 2nd second onto the rookies´ podium in Austria. In Italy, he stormed to pole position before coming third in race 2 behind title contenders Leonardo Pulcini and Ferdinand Habsburg.
Troitskiy is quoted as saying that "I´m happy to represent the SMP Racing programme at Drivex, which is preparing in full force for the 2017 season. We already had a great experience working together at round five and six held at Red Bull Ring and Monza respectively. Our target for 2017 is obvious enough!".
Miguel Ángel de Castro has declared that “I would like to begin by cordially thanking SMP Racing and Nikita for the confidence they have placed in us once again. Our mutual engagement in motorsport always focuses on success and I´m really looking forward to 2017 season. Nikita is one of those drivers blessed by nature with his talent for motorsports. But the best is yet to come!”.
Previously, Drivex had already confirmed Brazil´s Christian Hahn as one of drivers for the upcoming season.
